"People"

  About the Book

I have always enjoyed words properly fitted together to make powerful yet sensible statements.  Words have the ability to change one's thinking, attitude, behavior, view, outlook, passion, opinion and life itself.  Consider the great philosophers of the past such as Confucius who said:  "Respect yourself and others will respect you."  Or Heraclitus who cried:  "Character is destiny."

Although these men are long gone, their proverbial expressions live on in the hearts of people everywhere and their philosophies are being factored everyday in the lives to many.  Needless to say, these statements have made a profound effect on the minds of those who have chosen to apply them.

This is precisely why I wrote and compiled this book of quotations and comments. My objective is to make you think on a more practical level, to make you step back and examine, "Who Am I?" "Do I like the way I am?" "Do I need change?" or "Am I okay with who I am?" Every quote contains the word people in it to make it more personal and relative.

I believe this book will activate, awaken, and adjust areas in your life that need change.  It will challenge you one on one by steering you in the direction of self-examination and exploration. So often we see other things around us that need change, when in reality the change needs to start within us. Remember:  "You'll never achieve outward stability, until you find inward security."

Inward security doesn't come from talking a good talk, but action! It's easy to quote great comments to impress your intellect and even the intellect of others. It's even easier to write or recite your own. But the true deal is when you begin to live them out, expressing them through your everyday life or should I say by "Practicing What You Preach." In failing to do so, what you say will become nothing more than mere lip service and mental documentation, which is no service to you.

With that in mind, I offer the quotes of this book to your inner self, conscience and beyond.  My hope is that you will find you in this book.  Whether you read this in the morning, at lunch or just in your "quiet space," my desire is for you to take the opportunity to see WORDS as you have never seen them before . . . with life, conviction and hope.  Peace.
